Who
are they?
Noah’s
New Americans are kids who are interested in history
and want to learn more by participating in it! Students
ages 11-17 are welcome to join.
Is it fun?
Noah’s
New Americans dress in 18th century clothing
and learn all about daily life during the American
Revolution by trying out the activities, games,
and chores of the time. They do activities like hearth
cooking, crafts, woodworking, spinning, and more!
What do they do?
The club introduces colonial life, morals,
and genteel manners to young adults. Each member
assumes the identity of a Connecticut
colonist and learns about who they were
and what they did. Characters are developed
as they participate in colonial pastimes, and try
out colonial chores. They are also involved in volunteer and
community projects.
When do they meet?
The New Americans meet the first Wednesday of
every month from September to June from 2-5:30
p.m. at the Noah Webster House and West Hartford
Historical Society (227 South Main Street, West Hartford).
Why should I join?
If you’re interested in history,
it’s the perfect opportunity
to live it!
Noah
Webster’s writing, scholarship, and
patriotic actions changed the course of
history. Noah’s New Americans strive to
create positive changes both in the present and
the future.
Live
the Past in your Future!
