Sidewalk History – Elmwood

May 26, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

- $12.00

Celebrate Historic Preservation Month in May with a trio of walking tours led by award-winning architectural historian Mary Donohue.

Discover Elmwood – Trek through Elmwood and learn about the neighborhood’s distinctive architectural history. The section of town was named for the elm trees planted in memory of the American victory at the Battle of Saratoga, 1777. Once West Hartford’s premiere industrial district, the area is now home to landmark churches, reused schools, and charming bungalows.

Meet in front of the Elmwood Community Center. Tour begins promptly at 10 a.m. and will last approximately 1 hour long. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
