Celebrate Historic Preservation Month in May with a trio of walking tours led by award-winning architectural historian Mary Donohue.
Discover Arnoldale and Beverly Roads – In the 1920s, wealthy business men built handsome new homes in West Hartford neighborhoods that lined the eastern end of Farmington Avenue. The May 19th tour will visit tow of these outstanding side streets (Arnoldale and Beverly Roads). The Colonial Revival, Bungalow, Spanish Revival, and Shingle homes were built to impress.
Meet in front of the Packard Apartment Building at 745 Farmington Ave. Tour begins promptly at 10 a.m. and will last approximately 1 hour long. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
If you are interested in more Sidewalk History, we also have a tour of tours of Park Road on May 5 and Elmwood on May 26.
