Located in the south end of West Hartford, the historic Noah Webster House offers 18th-century charm with 21st-century amenities. Bring your office team in for a unique business retreat, celebrate a family milestone, or reserve an evening for a holiday gathering. Our Hamilton Gallery compliments this National Historic Landmark and is an ideal destination for small to medium-sized functions.

Hamilton Gallery
The museum’s primary function room can accommodate 50 persons (seated) and 75 persons (standing) for dinner or cocktail events. The space is equipped with comfortable chairs, a variety of table options, and updated AV projection capabilities. Two doors open up directly to the West Terrace for fair-weather entertaining outside.
18th-Century Reproduction Kitchen
Adjacent to the Hamilton Gallery, this early American-inspired room features an open-hearth fireplace and works to complement your event as a cocktail/buffet space, catering support, or a breakout room for corporate retreats.
West Terrace
Our beautiful and private blue stone terrace, secluded amongst the pines, is adjacent to the Hamilton Gallery and available for your fair weather entertaining. Terrace includes festive lighting and outdoor furniture that can accommodate 24 guests seated or 40 standing.

The Historic Noah Webster House
This National Historic Landmark can be made available (by prior arrangement) for your guests to tour during your event, and is a wonderful way to round out your experience.
Special Occasions
Celebrate that milestone birthday, the baby on the way, a family gathering on the eve of the wedding, or a festive holiday event. Dinner seating for 50 persons, standing cocktail setup accommodates 75 persons. Enjoy a warm fire in our reproduction 1750s kitchen or have a summer cocktail party on the West Terrace on a Sunday afternoon.
Business Meetings & Retreats
The museum’s updated Hamilton Gallery is equipped with comfortable new chairs, in-house tables, and modern AV projection capabilities.
*Museum Members enjoy a 10% discount on facility rentals. Non-profit organizations are eligible for special pricing on certain days/times.
Conditions to Note:
- Scheduling of Museum events, school groups, & public hours supersede rental requests.
- Access to the Noah Webster House for self-guided tours is available to all rental guests.
- Rental Rates include use of in-house tables & chairs, A/V presentation equipment, and table linens are available (in black or white) if necessary. 30-minute setup prior to, and 30-minute breakdown after the event are considered part of your scheduled time.
- The Noah Webster House cannot arrange for your catering needs, but we can provide our list of preferred catering recommendations. If alcohol is to be served during the event, the Noah Webster House requires proof of purchase of additional one-day event insurance with a liability coverage minimum of $1,000,000. Event Insurance should be secured at least two weeks prior to the event, and COI provided to the Museum’s Private Event Coordinator. NWH can provide you with information to secure affordable event insurance options.
- We may require that you hire a professional bartender or catering service with appropriate licensing & insurance for food & beverage service for your scheduled event.
