Age 8 – 12 • 8:30am – 4:00pm
LOCATION: NOAH WEBSTER HOUSE/WESTMOOR PARK
Children can explore life in the 1700’s by spending a week as a colonial child! By doing activities at both the Noah Webster House and Westmoor Park, children experience first-hand the chores, games and fun of colonial times.
To register, contact the Noah Webster House education staff at 227 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107, by phone at 860- 521-5362 ext. 12, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, register in person, or find forms on the website at https://noahwebsterhouse.org/colonialchildsadventurecamp.
During the week, children help to cook their lunches over an open hearth, explore Noah Webster’s house and garden, work on crafts, make and play games, and learn colonial dances. At Westmoor Park, children care for the barnyard animals, tend the vegetable garden, and create crafts from nature.
Camp is held at two different locations: Monday/Wednesday/Friday sessions will be held at the Noah Webster House, 227 South Main Street. Tuesday and Thursday sessions will be held at Westmoor Park, 119 Flagg Road. An extended hour until 5:00 pm is available for $40/week. *Save money and enjoy programs through the year by becoming a Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society member today.
