This project aims to create a living time capsule of West Hartford, utilizing architectural illustrations and the cherished memories of town residents. West Hartford residents are warmly invited to send a postcard to the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society, featuring a painting of their house or a beloved local landmark, crafted by the artist Ido Michaeli. Accompanying this visual representation, residents are invited to share a brief story — delving into the recent history of the dwelling, recounting a cherished memory within its walls, or sharing an intriguing fact about current residents. The postcards will be collected by the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society and permanently preserved as part of their collection. This inclusive project extends an open invitation to the entire community, inviting their active participation in the collection efforts of the West Hartford Historical Society. It seeks to embrace the diverse tapestry of the town and commemorate its story through collaborative and communal participation and documenting the contemporary history of West Hartford, its residents, and their homes.
