Brad Davis (MFA, Vermont College of Fine Arts) is a California-born Canadian living in northeastern Connecticut, where, in 2022, he was a Writer-in-Residence at Trail Wood, the Edwin Way Teale homestead and Audubon property in Hampton, CT. Author of nine poetry collections, most recently Trespassing on the Mount of Olives (Poiema Poetry Series), Davis’ poems have appeared in Paris Review, Poetry, Connecticut River Review, Image, Michigan Quarterly Review, Spiritus, JAMA, Brilliant Corners, Connecticut Review, Vellum, Here, and many other journals. Awards include an AWP Intro Journal Award, Sunken Garden Poetry Prize, and numerous Pushcart nominations. He has taught at two colleges (Holy Cross, Eastern Connecticut State) and two boarding schools (Pomfret, Stony Brook) and current directs a creative writing seminar for Westview Commons in Dayville, CT.
Sally Van Doren is the author of four poetry collections, Sibilance, (LSU Press, September 2023) Promise, Possessive, and Sex at Noon Taxes which received the First Book Award from the Academy of American Poets. A graduate of Princeton University (BA) and University of Missouri-St. Louis (MFA), she has taught poetry at the 92nd Street Y, Washington University, the St. Louis Public Schools and most recently the Scoville Memorial Library. A practicing visual artist, Van Doren exhibits regularly and her work appears on the cover of her two recent books and The Difference is Spreading: Fifty Contemporary Poets on Fifty Poems (UPenn Press 2022). A native St. Louisan, she works from her studio in West Cornwall, CT.
