Reading starts with Open Mic

A dual citizen of the Republic of Ireland and the US, Debbie Gilbert has written seven poetry collections, the most recent, Finches in Kilmainham and Misneach: A Story of Kidnap, Enslavement, and Colonialism (Grayson Books, 2024). Three-time Pushcart nominee, she serves on the board of the Riverwood Poetry Series and as co-editor of the Connecticut River Review.

V. Penelope Pelizzon’s fourth book, A Gaze Hound That Hunteth by the Eye (Pitt Poetry Series, 2024) is a LitHub recommendation for 2024. Her first, Nostos, won the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award;  her second, Whose Flesh Is Flame, Whose Bone Is Time, was a finalist for the Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize.
