The Noah Webster House partnered with the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford to co-
host this virtual event. Join us March 9, 2022 at 8:00 pm on Zoom for a panel discussion about growing up Jewish in West Hartford in the 1940s and 1950s. These decades, when Jewish families first started moving to town in significant numbers, were a time of change as the Jewish community started making a home in the suburbs.
New synagogues like Beth David and Beth El were created, and the Emanuel started its gradual move to West Hartford, but Jews still encountered some barriers to full acceptance during this time of transition.
Panlists Paula Feinstien, Susan Goldberg, Daniel Kleinman, and Sandra Rulnick will share their reflections on growing up during this era.
